There are a number of methods of comparing different charts for compatibility. Most of these focus on marriage. There are methods that compute compatibility factors, like favorable signs or Nakshatras (the kuta system that we will examine in the next lesson). They add up the various points and see if there are enough in common to guarantee a good match.
Such calculations can be helpful but as they are based upon Indian marriage standards which are different from those in the West, we cannot expect them to work here without some modification. There are other methods that compare all relevant factors in both charts.
While this second method is more complex, it is more detailed and more accurate so we will examine it first.
