VENUS TRANSITS LEO –(JULY 31 – AUGUST 24)
As August 2024 starts, Venus the planet of love and pleasure transits to the fire sign of Leo where it would be staying till the 24 th . Venus in Leo is a good period to pursue our creative inspirations. Though Leo is not a favorable position for Venus, Venus related matters get more stability during this transit period.
During this transit, Venus in Leo would be aspected by the Retrograde Saturn from Aquarius which would put some pressure in your relationships and creative pursuits. Some new love connections are likely due to this aspect. As Venus transits through Leo, its home of Taurus hosts the conjunction of Mars and Jupiter. This brings about tremendous power and growth choices in the fields of arts and familial ties.
Moon in Taurus moves to its own sign of Cancer on the 4 th of August. Here it meets the other luminary, the Sun at 19 degrees marking the New Moon for the Month of August. This is a time of low energy levels, hence lay low and turn inwards.
Add to this the aspect of Rahu from Pisces onto the New Moon in Cancer. This might bring about some turbulent times around. A sense of chaos and confusion might prevail. Wait for things to settle down. Though things seem uncertain there might be some saving grace in one form or the another. Just be patient for the Cosmos to do its task. Be cautious when you wade through turbulent waters and sensitive issues in life during this New Moon time.
MERCURY RETROGRADE In Leo-( AUGUST 4 – 28)
On the 4 th of August, Mercury the ruler of communications goes retrograde in Leo at 10 degrees. Be ready for some troubles with regard to your communications and expressions. This would be a good time to re-organize or review things in a better light and wait for Mercury to turn direct.
Then on the 21 st of August, Mercury moves over to the sign of Cancer and on the 28 th turns direct at 28 degrees of Cancer. When in Leo, Mercury would be in opposition (180 deg) to Saturn posited in its own sign of Aquarius. This is likely to bring about unwanted hindrances and delays in your pursuits. And then there is Mars, the fiery planet aspecting Leo from the sign of Taurus. This advises us to be patient, and have a Plan B ready at all times.
Add to this we have the combustion of Mercury with Saturn around mid-August, that is between the 11 th and the 28 th when the Sun would be in its own home of Leo. And as August ends, Mercury turns direct when our perspective gets wider, clearer and better. You would find that the hindrances and the delays were really worth it and taught you some important life lessons, by the way.
JUPITER CONJUNCT MARS IN TAURUS - AUGUST 14
Jupiter transited to the earth sign of Taurus on the 1 st of May, 2024. From here it would be aspecting the signs of Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn by its 5 th , 7 th and 9 th house aspects. Mars entered Taurus on the 12 th of July and would be here till the 28 th of August. The exact conjunction of Jupiter and Mars in Taurus occurs on the 14 th of August at 23 degrees. This would be a very potent combination of planets.
During this conjunction make sure that things around are kept smooth and you proceed with a slow and steady pace. Cling on to things that you perceive are working. Do note that during this conjunction, Mercury and Saturn are retrograde and they work towards a balanced approach to life.
And then Mars would be shifting position from Taurus to Gemini on the 26 th of August when it would be aspecting the sign of Leo, which is also aspected by Saturn. This would be a push and pull situation which might be quite frustrating at times.
SUN TRANSITS LEO-( AUGUST 16 – SEPTEMBER 16)
The Sun transiting through the water sign of Cancer as August started moves over it its own house of Leo on the 16 th of August. This would see the Sun in Leo opposing Saturn in Aquarius and this would be a stiff face off. The Sun would be spending its time in Leo till mid-September after which it transits to the next adjacent sign of Virgo. This Sun-Saturn opposition in previous instances has brought about wars and troubles across the globe. We need to wait and watch as things unfold during the Sun transit.
The transit of Sun through is a time to find the perfect balance between self and societal preferences. Individual assertion and collective contribution get into play. We need to protect our own personal agenda, at the same time yielding to societal concerns as well. It reiterates that while we navigate life as individuals we need to participate in a collective sense as well.
FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS- AUGUST 19
On the 19 th of August, the Moon in Aquarius at 3 degrees would oppose the Sun in Leo at 3 degrees forming the Full Moon for August. During this Full Moon we have the Moon joining Retrograde Saturn in Aquarius and the Sun joining the retrograde Mercury. This would be a powerful Full Moon that would ask for a balance in our lives.
The Full Moon urges us to protect ourselves when our environment around turns vulnerable. It also compels us to express ourselves quite vividly and share our feelings honestly. Also, this would be ab apt time to look to our inner-self for guidance and assurance.
VENUS TRANSITS VIRGO –(AUGUST 24 – SEPTEMBER 18)
Venus transiting Leo shifts position to the sign of Virgo on the 24 th of August and would stay there till the 18 th of September. In Virgo, Venus is said to be debilitated and it joins Ketu or the Moon’s Soth Node posited therein. This would be a difficult transit for Venus though.
The association of Venus with Ketu creates some difficulties in our relationships and would hinder our forward movement. It would discourage any potential unions in love or marriage and would bring out the flaws in our relationships. It would also expose ourselves and what mars our ties and connections.
However, use this Venus transit period to learn ways to improve your mental and physical side and show it in a pleasant way to your partner. And we have Jupiter in Taurus aspecting Venus in Virgo as well. This is a positive aspect that gives way for growth despite obstacles in our path. Add to this there would be the aspect of Mars on Virgo from the 26 th of August. This would be a very dynamic aspect that would encourage creation and building up.
MARS TRANSITS GEMINI-( AUGUST 26 – OCTOBER 20)
Mars in Taurus transits to Gemini on the 26 th of August and would be spending the next 6 weeks time here till the 20 th of October. Mars in Gemini would give us the power to learn, move and get into action. The transit time of Mars in Gemini would be a very active period.
From Gemini, Mars would be aspecting the signs of Virgo, Sagittarius and Capricorn by its 4 th , 7 th and 8 th house aspects. Natives who have strong placements in these houses would see an intense energy, power and drive this transit season.
And Gemini’s ruler Mercury would be turning direct on the 28 th of August and this would aid Mars and its forward movement.
MERCURY DIRECT IN CANCER - AUGUST 28
The retrograde phase of Mercury ends on the 28 th of August at 28 degrees of Cancer as August prepares to end. From here on Mercury would be gaining speed and would be entering Leo once again on the 3 rd of September.
Things that were hindered or delayed during the retrograde phase now start proceeding with full steam. As August unwinds, this direct motion of Mercury brings about a cleansing, organizing and recovery of things and situations that were lost during the retrograde phase. Then areas ruled over by Mercury like communications, learning and relationships would be back on track.
