The Moon would be waning as July starts and on the 5 th of July, it would join the Sun at 21 degrees of Gemini forming the New Moon for the month. As always, this New Moon would be a time that would drain us physically and mentally leaving us quite exhausted by life burdens. It is best to take rest when the Moon is in its vulnerable stage.
Gemini is an air sign ruled by Mercury wherein this New Moon occurs. This indicates the start of our learning and communication processes. The luminaries Sun and Moon are surrounded by Jupiter, Venus and Mercury, all benefics hence this would be a good time. With Gemini being posited with Mercury and Venus our creative pursuits might be encouraged. As July progresses, be prepared for things that you did not quite expect. Just go with the flow and the Moon would be inspiring you as it starts to wax with July moving on.
VENUS TRANSITS CANCER-( JULY 6 – 31)
A day after the New Moon, Venus, transiting through Gemini moves over to the sign of Cancer on the 6 th and would be here till the end of the month. Venus and Mercury together in Cancer would be aspected by Rahu or the Moon’s North Node. Use this transit time to spend quality time with family and friends or to rewind. Stay nourished and relaxed around these days.
From the 10 th of July, Venus breaks free from the combustion of the Sun and would slowly transition from the morning star to the evening star. From mid-July we would be able to spot Venus in the western sky now for the rest of the year.
Cancer is a water sign and Venus through Cancer marks a good time to find new relationships and to nurture the existing ones. The aspect of Rahu on Venus might be disruptive at times. Venus in Cancer also promotes our creative pursuits. You get more social and family becomes your focus point as Venus transits to the homely sign of Cancer till the end of July.
MARS TRANSITS TAURUS-( JULY 12 – AUGUST 26)
As July 2024 starts, Mars would be transiting through its own home of Aries which is a strong position. Then on the 12 th , Mars moves over to the earth sign of Taurus where it would be staying till the end of August. Although Taurus is not a good position for Mars, Mars has the great power and energy to plough through the earthy terrain of Taurus.
From Taurus, Mars would be aspecting the signs of Leo, Scorpio and Sagittarius by its 4 th , 7 th and 8 th house aspects respectively. As for Leo, it enhances their creative spree, for Scorpios, Mars gives the power and energy to dredge hidden depths and for Sagittarius, it does well too.
In Taurus, Mars gets the company of Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius as well. Mars and Jupiter make good friends and together they help to expand power in a positive way. The fire power of Mars would be channeled in positive directions by Jupiter. The power of Mars gets grounded to practical areas as it transits through the sign of Taurus.
SUN TRANSITS CANCER-( JULY 15 – AUGUST 16)
With the start of July, the Sun would be traversing through the sign of Gemini. The Sun is quite comfortable when in Gemini. It would be a peaceful environment for us to explore new ideas and pursue our creative skills. And on the 15 th of July, the Sun transits to Cancer, the watery abode of the other luminary Moon. In Cancer, the Sun would be staying till the 16 th of August. The Sun is in friendly territory as it transits through Cancer.
During this transit, Cancer is aspected by Rahu which might bring about some sort of confusion around. And Leo, the house of Sun would be aspected by Saturn making things around quite tough. All along the transit of the Sun through Cancer, both Mercury and Venus stay away from gets combusted. Hence this would be a good time when your body and mind work in tandem, use this period for constructive purposes.
MERCURY TRANSITS LEO-( JULY 19 – AUGUST 22)
Mercury traversing through the house of Gemini as July started, hops over to the adjacent sign of Leo on the 19 th of July and would be here till the 22 nd of August. With Mercury in Leo, we would feel quite comfortable. Things seem to move ahead in a decent pace and certain things get done more quickly than anticipated.
However, Mercury in Leo cautions us to stay grounded, to relax and enjoy the good times around. This transit encourages us to pursue recreations with the Sun shining brightly. Make use of the Summer days constructively, get outdoors.
Mercury would be moving quite swiftly and on the 4 th of August would start its retrograde motion. This backward motion would see Mercury seeing Venus and Sun. It would be re-entering Cancer and would finally go direct in Cancer itself. Brace yourself for some tough times ahead. August might be quite tricky in terms of relationships and communications for you as Mercury turns retrograde.
FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN- JULY 21
On the 21 st of July, the Moon gets full at 5 degrees of Capricorn with the Sun in opposition (180 deg) to it at 5 degrees of Cancer. Do note that Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn wherein the Full Moon occurs is placed in its own sign of Aquarius. This advises us not to waste the time we have in hand at the present.
The Sun would be joined by Venus and this would be favorable for our relationships. Saturn would encourage us to keep working hard and to stay disciplined. This Full Moon of July would be a combination of practicality and creativity. And then for the rest of the month, the Moon starts to wane with no major impacts around.
