Sani Peyarchi
(Transit Saturn)- June 27, 2005

Sani Peyarchi or
Saturn Transit is an event in which the planet Saturn also
called as Sani Bhagawan moves or transits from one house to another.
Saturn
stays in house for a period of 2.5 years. This transit occurs on 27th
June, 2005, a Monday, exactly at 1.24 a.m. Saturn is moving from Mithuna
Rasi (Gemini) to Kadaka Rasi (Cancer) and is going to remain there
for the next two and half years.
This transit
is likely to bring in several good things and fortune to all. During
each of the previous transits we have experienced major restructuring
in financial and political areas. Personally Saturn forces us to
restructure our goals and ambitions, face our fears, become more
responsible in life.
For some it brings goodness and riches and for the others it would
be a period
of trials and tribulations.
Karaikal (Pondicherry) is known all over the world for its unique
and the only temple devoted to the Lord Saneeswara (Lord Saturn)
at Thirunallar. Special Sani Peyarchi Festival is held here for
each Saturn transit. The Sani Peyarchi festival is the "Kumb
Mela of Pondicherry" attracting lakhs of devotees.
Special Poojas are particularly held at the Saneeswara shrine there.
If it is not possible to visit any of the shrine, then poojas can
also be performed at any Siva temple which has a shrine for Saturn
or Lord Saneeswara. Prayers to the Sun God will also prove beneficial,
as Lord Sani is the offspring of Sun.
