As the year 2023 starts, the Moon would be waxing. It would be zipping through the zodiac sky and on the 6 th of January becomes full at 23 degrees of Gemini. The Moon would be in opposition (180 deg) to the Sun which is placed in the sign of Sagittarius at 23 degrees. The retrograding Mercury is also currently placed in the house of Sagittarius along with the Sun.
The position of this Full Moon is in Gemini, which is the home of Mercury which is now in retrograde motion. Hence this would be a great time when you make new contacts as you face the New year ahead. MARS DIRECT IN TAURUS- JANUARY 12
Mars, the fiery planet has been in retrograde motion from the 30 th of October 2022. It slows down a bit and goes direct on the 12 th of January this year at 14 degrees of the sign of Taurus. Mars entered the earthy sign of Taurus on the 13 th of November last year.
As Mars travels through this fixed sign of Taurus, it aspects the signs of Leo, Sagittarius and Capricorn by its 4 th , 7 th and 8 th house aspects. Hence natives of these signs would face some troubles and tribulations in life due to the aspect of the fiery Mars. From mid-November, 2022 to mid-January this year, Mars is likely to bring about sicknesses and insecure feelings thanks to its retrograde phase.

The Sun in Sagittarius, moves over to the next house of Capricorn on the 14 th of January and stays here till the 12 th of February. Capricorn is the house of Saturn. Sun and Saturn generally do not go together as there is a clash of their identities, the Sun is all about the individual ego while Saturn represents how we fit into the society as a whole. Hence this position of Sun in Capricorn asks for a rebalance of our individual and collective societal responsibilities.
However, the Sun in Capricorn indicates a very calm atmosphere around. There are no major planetary aspects and afflictions for now. This is a great time to stay grounded and connect to the earth with Capricorn being an earthy sign. We can get back to practical action after the long winter holidays and focus on our ventures.
SATURN TRANSITS AQUARIUS-( JANUARY 17, 2023 – MARCH 29, 2025)
Saturn shifts from Capricorn to Aquarius on the 17 th of January, 2023 and this is a great transit to behold as Saturn shifts position once in every 2.5 years or so affecting all the zodiac signs across the board. Saturn would be travelling through the airy sign of Aquarius till March 2025.
From the house of Aquarius, Saturn would be aspecting the signs of Aries, Leo and Scorpio by its 3 rd , 7 th and 10 th house aspects. Saturn in Aquarius likely to bring about ailments, and poverty on one side and also makes us to be dedicated, work hard and be patient and humble in all our activities.
With the aspect of Saturn, Aries would feel some stability from the chaos around. And Leo would be asked to go it slow and steady and to look for opportunities in the meantime. For Scorpio, the aspect of Saturn gives patience with power for the natives. MERCURY DIRECT IN SAGITTARIUS -JANUARY 18
Mercury started to retrograde on the 29 th of December 2022 and on the 18 th of January goes direct in the sign of Sagittarius. However, the Sun would be shortly transiting to the sign of Capricorn and hence Mercury is combust for a short period of time only.

Sagittarius is the home for Jupiter and is a fiery sign. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and is currently placed in the sign of Pisces. This brings about a positive influence around despite Mercury retrograding.

VENUS TRANSITS AQUARIUS-( JANUARY 22 – FEBRUARY 15)
Venus in Capricorn transits to the adjacent sign of Aquarius on the 22 nd of January closely following the New Moon. It would be staying here till mid- February. In Capricorn, Venus gets the company of Saturn which has transited therein recently.
Venus is a good friend of Saturn and it survives well in both Capricorn and Aquarius, the houses of Saturn. However when Venus comes into direct contact with Saturn there might be some intense energy around and it asks for setting new boundaries with respect to your relationships. And when Venus gets further into the sign of Aquarius there would be some newness to your relationships and creative energies.
