MERCURY TRANSITS SAGITTARIUS-( DECEMBER 2 – DECEMBER 29)
Mercury enters Jupiter’s sign of Sagittarius on the 2 nd of December and would be here till the 27 th . Sagittarius is quite a positive territory for our messenger and planet of communication namely, Mercury. Shortly Venus would be joining Mercury in Sagittarius as well. This would bring about a shift with Mercury coming out of the combustion zone of the Sun too. There would be some clarity with regard the way we communicate, create and share information.
Sagittarius is the house of Jupiter which is all about growth and expansion and Sagittarius rules over adventure, and spirituality. And with Mercury moving through this territory would be quite fun and joy.
But then do note that Mercury in Sagittarius would be aspected by Mars from Taurus and Rahu or the Moon’s Node from Aries. This would bring up some fiery energy around. And when managed properly this fiery energy can be diverted towards constructive purposes as well.
VENUS TRANSITS SAGITTARIUS-( DECEMBER 5 – DECEMBER 29)
Venus also would be closely following Mercury to enter Sagittarius from the sign of Scorpio on the 5 th of December and would be here till the 29 th of December. This duo would have just come out of the combustion zone of the Sun. In Sagittarius, Venus would be aspected by Mars from Taurus which is the home of Venus itself. This in a sense protects us from the fiery energy of Mars and there would be friendly exchange between Venus and Mars.
However, Mercury and Venus together in Sagittarius all this December would have the guiding protection of Jupiter from Pisces which is now direct. Jupiter had been retrograding till the 20’s of November, 2022. Together the forces of Jupiter, Mercury and Venus would aid in the learning process all through this December. This would be a great period to make plans for learning a new skill, for marketing your wares and initiating certain health regimens.
FULL MOON IN TAURUS- DECEMBER 7
The moon would be waxing as December starts and gets Full on the 7 th of December at 22 degrees of Taurus. On the same day the Sun would be in direct opposition (180 deg) to the Sun at 22 degrees of Scorpio. The Moon would be in direct conjunction (0 deg) with Mars in Taurus. This would bring about some clarity to our works of rebuilding or restructuring.
The current Full Moon helps us to find a way forward despite some tough placements around. We are just out of the eclipse season of November, Saturn and Jupiter are in direct motion now and Venus - Mercury are presently posited in the house of Sagittarius. All these planetary configurations help us to tread forward though the path seems hazy.
Moon in conjunction with retrograde Mars indicates that there is still work to be done and some changes to be met despite tough circumstances around. We would be compelled to move forward though our path had been strewn with troubles and hindrances of sorts. This Full Moon is a good time for some healing and showing of compassion to the really deserving ones.
SUN TRANSITS SAGITTARIUS- (DECEMBER 15 – JANUARY 14)
The Sun in the watery sign of Scorpio from November transits to the next sign of Sagittarius on the 15 th of December and would be here till the 14 th of January 2023. As always we would encounter the New Year 2023 with the Sun in Sagittarius. The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter which is currently in direct motion in the watery sign of Pisces.
The Sun in the watery sign of Scorpio from November transits to the next sign of Sagittarius on the 15 th of December and would be here till the 14 th of January 2023. As always we would encounter the New Year 2023 with the Sun in Sagittarius. The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter which is currently in direct motion in the watery sign of Pisces.
NEW MOON IN SAGITTARIUS- DECEMBER 23
Shortly after the winter solstice on the 21 st of December, the Moon and the Sun join together at 8 degrees of Sagittarius on the 23 rd of December forming the New Moon for the month. This is a period when we need to pause for sometime and do some resets in our lives. The New moon is a period of low energy when we are asked to lay low and initiate work towards a new path.
Rahu aspecting the sign of Sagittarius with a host of planets including the luminaries posited therein reminds us to be aware and alert for changes and opportunities around. Mars aspecting the New Moon gives us the necessary courage and power to forge ahead. However make sure that you stay grounded around the New Moon period.
MERCURY RETROGRADE-( DECEMBER 29 – JANUARY 19)
Mercury entered the sign of Sagittarius on the 2 nd of December and then exits it on the 27 th to the house of Capricorn. There it begins to go retrograde on the 29 th and would return back to Sagittarius on the 30 th of December. This retrograde phase continues till the 18 th of January 2023.
All the retrograde phases of Mercury in 2022 occurred in earth signs and in 2023 that would occur in fiery signs including this retrograde phase that happens in the fire sign of Sagittarius. When Mercury gets back to Sagittarius on the 30 th of December, it would be aspected by the fiery energy of Rahu and Mars. The aspect of Mars on retrograde Mercury would bring about some push into our ventures in a totally shocking way. Mercury would finally go direct on the 19 th of January at 15 degrees of Sagittarius.
This Mercury retrograde through the New Year asks us to trust our instincts and roots and work towards our new initiatives for the coming year.
VENUS TRANSITS CAPRICORN –(DECEMBER 29 – JANUARY 22)
Closely following Mercury, Venus also shifts position from Sagittarius to the adjacent house of Capricorn on the 29 th of December and would be here till the 22 nd of January 2023. With this Venus transit, it comes out of the gaze of Mars and Rahu.
Capricorn, the abode of Saturn is a friendly territory for Venus and hence forebodes goodness. Venus would also go in for a conjunction (0 deg) with Saturn in Capricorn after which Saturn shifts to Aquarius in mid- January.
Venus transiting through friendly terrain as the New Year starts would bring about goodness in your relationships. You would be able to forge some long term commitments with this transit. A sense of calmness and stability would be brought about by Venus in 2023 in your relationship and creative areas.
