The luminaries Sun and the Moon join together and form an exact conjunction at 19 degrees of Capricorn on the 1st of February, forming the New Moon for the month. During this New Moon , Capricorn would be hosting yet another great conglomerate of planets with its own Lord Saturn and the retrograding Mercury. Building foundations or laying the cornerstones would be good things to do for now.
During this New Moon, the Moon is in a very vulnerable position, being directly hit by the Sun’s light and by the effects of Saturn. Some support can be expected for this New Moon by the benefic positioning of Venus in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Aquarius on both the sides. It reduces our growth pains and helps us to withstand our period of transition. Add to this the aspect of Rahu or the Moon’s Node from the house of Taurus that further brings about some discomfort. During the New Moon, stop, listen and calm your senses to see the unseen.
The first phase of retrograde of Mercury for the year 2022 which started on the 14th of January ends on the 3rd of February at 0 degrees of Capricorn. Mercury moves to the next house of Aquarius on the 6th. And for this February, Mercury transits through Capricorn and Aquarius, both the abodes of Saturn, which happens to be quite a friendly planet for Mercury.
This retrograde phase of Mercury had been quite a strong one. From the first week of February, things around shall see some stability . As Mercury goes direct on February 3rd in Capricorn, the Sun and Saturn would also be meeting together in this house. This makes it an ideal time to make some important decisions that had been postponed due to the retrograde phase.
The combination of Sun and Saturn in Capricorn is a potent combination with a tiff between egos and power challenges around. It is a time to lay low, however Mercury would play a good mediator guiding us and deviating us towards learning new skills and honing our talents.
The Sun transiting the house of Capricorn as February 2022 starts shifts to the neighbouring house of Aquarius on the 13th and this also happens to be the abode of Saturn. Currently Jupiter is posited in the house of Aquarius and this is a friend of Sun.
Though Sun is not generally comfortable treading in the arena of Saturn, in Aquarius it is free from Saturn in Capricorn for now. Saturn used to rule the roost then. And then Sun was aspected by Rahu, the Moon’s North Node as well, which further added to its woes.
The duo of Sun and Jupiter in Aquarius gives a positive energy around and helps us to pursue with a focus. There seems to be a better purpose and confidence in the way we are treading as of now.
The New Moon of February starts to wax and gets full at 4 degrees of Leo on the 16th of February forming the Full Moon for the month. At this moment, the Sun is in exact opposition to the Moon at 4 degrees of Aquarius and the Nodes of the Moon, namely Rahu and Ketu are in Taurus and Scorpio respectively.
As always, the Full Moon brings the full light of Sun to the fore and this helps us to see things in a better perception than before. This is a good time to garner information or content for some of your ventures. The benefic Jupiter is presently strongly placed in Aquarius along with the Sun. This makes sure that we bet on the right horses at the right time.
This Full Moon is also an ideal time to look into the background of our lives, our ancestors, the wisdom they garnered and the sacrifices they have made to make our lives better for now.
Mars and Venus have been travelling in close proximity for quite sometime now and on the 26th of February together transit to the house of Capricorn.
For Mars, Capricorn is the house of Exaltation and it transits here till the first week of April. Saturn is currently posited in its own house of Capricorn as well. Though Saturn and Mars are not good friends, they do work together better and Capricorn being an earthy sign is a good place for Mars to perform well.
Generally when Saturn and Mars meet up they bring about lot friction but now with Mars exalted and Saturn in its own house things seem a little better.
Venus that enters Capricorn on the 26th of February stays here till the 30th of March. Venus is always in good terms with Saturn and now plays a good diplomat between Saturn and Mars and gets things done. With this duo in the practical sign of Capricorn, the end of the month is an apt time to bring put our theory into practice.
