SUGILITE

Overview:

Sugilite is named after the Japanese Geologist who discovered the first specimens, Ken-ichi Sugi. Sugilite is also known under the trade names of "Royal Lavulite" and "Royal Azel". Sugilite is a purple stone sometimes known as a Healer's Stone.


Usage:

It is a balancer of mind, body and spirit and encourages peace of mind. It is also said to protect one from negativity in one's environment and to assist one's efforts to heal oneself or others. Brings higher spiritual awareness into physical reality. It strengthens the immunity system, assists in working with pain, and is very useful , when combined with rose quartz, in working with debilitating illnesses. Uplifts and gives one more energy.

Legend:

The first known appearance of the mineral Sugilite took place on the Iwagi Islet in Southwest Japan in 1944. It was discovered by Professor Kenichi Sugi (for which it was later named ) and Mr. Kutsuna, a colleague of the professors.

Japan, Canada, India, Kalahari Desert, Northern South Africa, Quebec, Italy, and New Zealand.
