EPIDOTE

Overview:

Epidote arises from the Greek words epi and donal, owing to one side often being larger than the other. In those who are attuned, this stone enhances perception and personal power, and dispels criticalness, enabling you to look objectively at your strengths and weaknesses. Removing ingrained resistance to spiritual awakening, a

powerful catharsis or abreaction of negative energy may be experienced and this is best undertaken with a crystal therapist. Epidote assists you in staying centred no matter the situation and is deal for those who fall into victimhood or martyrdom. It supports the body’s healing processes and helps you to look after yourself.

Epidote usually occurs in high-pressure, low-temperature calcium-bearing metamorphic rocks and as precipitates from magmatic fluids in igneous formations. Epidote is best known among mineral collectors for its unique green color described as "pistachio", which is quite striking in well-colored specimens.

Epidote is the iron-rich end member of a solid solution series with aluminum-rich clinozoisite. Epidote is not commonly cut and polished as a precious stone because the crystals rarely are clear or large enough to facet.
