DRAVITE

Overview:

Dravite was named after the Drave region in Carinthia. Dravite is the brown variety of the Tourmaline Group. Dravite will sometimes produce rather large well shaped crystals that cut beautiful gems. Minerals which work well in unison with dravite are selenite and jade.

Until the recent finds in Zambia and Pakistan, Dravites were dark brown to black and opaque; now there's some cuttable yellow-green through yellow-orange to brown ones on the market. Dravite will sometimes produce rather large well shaped crystals that are important specimens in a rock hound's collection.

Usage:

Dravite helps one to form a subtle but solid Earth connection. Said to bring a realization of the "God within". Can be used to clear the aura and align the energies of the aurathic field about the body. Most effective grounding of the tourmalines. A protective stone that brings the peace of the earth to the higher self. This stone is strongly associated with healing, especially in the legs.
