Chiron, Ceres, Juno, Pallas Athena and Vesta are the frequently used asteroids in astrology these days. They also play an important and necessary part in their own right in astrological calculations. Although they are not as strong as the planets, the asteroids can be very useful in locating extra information within our birth charts.

They indicate something extra from the charts. The asteroids belong to a mythological family. Ceres is the mother, Juno the sister and wife of Jupiter or Zeus, Pallas the daughter and Vesta the sister.

They are very small to be considered planets. They are commonly known as minor planets. Asteroids range in size from Ceres, which has a diameter of about 1000 km, to the size of small pebbles. The bigger asteroids have been found inside the Earth's orbit to beyond Saturn's orbit. Most, however, are contained within a main belt that exists between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
