Descendant

In the field of astrology, the Descendant is the point directly opposite, or 180 degrees away from the Ascendant, or Rising Sign. The Descendant is on the cusp of the seventh house of the horoscope and quite often refers to the native's partner or those individuals who he is likely to form partnerships with.

Since this is usually the cusp of the 7th house in a standard natal chart it is said to naturally correspond to Libra, the 7th astrological sign in the Natural Zodiac.

It is the sign that was setting in the west at the time of birth, like the sunset. The sign on this cusp will show the type of person we are attracted to in terms of marriage partners. For example if you have Aquarius on the descendant, you will be attracted to those of the Aquarian nature.
