The Moon orbits around the Earth and hence the illuminated parts of the Moon visible to us changes and this results in the various phases of the Moon. The Moon takes 27.3 days to orbit Earth, but the lunar phase cycle from new Moon to new Moon is 29.5 days. The below table shows the moon phases for November.
