Venus Transits Leo-( July 4 – 31)
Venus moves from Cancer into Leo on July 4, ending the Venus–Jupiter connection that shaped much of spring and early summer. This shift may feel noticeable, especially in relationships, business decisions, artistic work, and personal desires. Throughout the year, Venus has been visible as an evening star, setting after the Sun and adding beauty to the western sky after sunset. This evening- star phase continues until October, when Venus turns retrograde and begins the process of becoming a morning star. Until then, July invites us to enjoy Venus’ glow while also observing how her movement through Leo stirs passion, creativity, and personal expression.
Leo is ruled by the Sun, and this fiery sign does not always give Venus the soft, nourishing support she prefers. Still, if we balance the heat of Leo with emotional awareness, beauty, and creative flow, this transit can help launch artistic or performance-based projects. A major point comes around July 9–10, when Venus meets Ketu in Leo. Ketu often removes, blocks, or redirects energy in mysterious ways. This conjunction may reveal what is no longer viable in love, art, agreements, or financial matters. It may also help break through creative blocks or bring clarity after long negotiations.
Mars, moving through Taurus, also aspects Venus during this time, adding passion, friction, and intensity. This can create turbulence, but it can also push us to shape our desires with more discipline and design. Rahu’s influence adds surprise, innovation, and sudden developments.
Retrograde Mercury Returns to Gemini: July 7
Mercury entered Cancer on july 22 and began retrograde motion on july 29 at 3 degrees Cancer. On July 7, Mercury moves back into Gemini, his own sign, and continues retrograde until July 23, when he turns direct at 23 degrees Gemini.
This Mercury retrograde may bring familiar themes: mixed messages, delayed plans, overfilled schedules, revised agreements, and conversations that need to be reopened. Rather than forcing quick results, this period favors editing, reviewing, rechecking, and refining.
Mercury in Gemini is strong, but during this retrograde he also moves close to the Sun and becomes combust. Combustion can blur details and make it harder to see things clearly. Yet Mercury is the planet most used to traveling near the Sun, which reflects our ability to adapt under pressure.
This is a useful time to relearn something, return to an unfinished skill, or revisit a study that was dropped earlier. Humility helps. If ego blocks learning, progress slows. If curiosity leads, this retrograde can become productive.
The New Moon arrives on July 14 at 28 degrees Gemini. The Sun, Moon, and retrograde Mercury come together, while Rahu aspects from Aquarius. This creates a mentally active but potentially unstable atmosphere.
New Moons often bring a temporary dip in energy. With retrograde Mercury involved, the mind may want to move faster than the body can support. Rahu’s influence can create a false sense of excitement or urgency, making it easier to push beyond healthy limits.
This lunation asks for honest self-assessment. Are you truly ready to restart something? Was the desire real the first time, or are you repeating an old pattern? Punarvasu is connected with renewal, return, and restoration, making this a powerful moment for second chances — but only if they are grounded in truth.
Jupiter in Cancer supports growth, protection, and emotional wisdom. Around this New Moon, it becomes important to define what is worth nourishing and what no longer deserves energy, time, or resources.
Sun Transits Cancer-(July 16 – August 16)
The Sun enters Cancer on July 16 and remains there until August 16. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, directs attention toward home, family, emotional security, mothers, mental states, nourishment, sales, and matters of care.
As the Sun leaves Gemini, it also moves away from the confusing influence of retrograde Mercury under Rahu’s aspect. This can bring more emotional clarity and stability after a mentally restless period.
In Cancer, the Sun joins Jupiter, who is well placed in this sign. The exact Sun–Jupiter conjunction occurs on July 29. Jupiter remains combust for much of July, which can be interpreted in two ways: Jupiter’s voice may be overwhelmed by the Sun, or Jupiter’s wisdom may be carried through the Sun’s bright power.
Either way, Cancer becomes an important focus. Since Cancer is a sign of sensitivity and vulnerability, July’s second half calls for gentleness. Care, protection, emotional intelligence, and compassion become essential.
The next New Moon after this will occur on August 12 in late Cancer, forming a total solar eclipse due to Ketu’s closeness in Leo. For now, July’s Cancer transit remains relatively clear, with the Sun and Jupiter creating a bright, expansive, and emotionally meaningful influence.
Mercury Direct in Gemini- July 23
Mercury turns direct on July 23 at 23 degrees Gemini. Even after Mercury stations direct, the effects of the retrograde can linger, so patience is still needed through the end of July.
As Mercury moves forward again through Gemini, communication, learning, trade, writing, planning, and technical work begin to regain strength. Since Mercury is in his own sign, this becomes a valuable period for organizing thoughts, correcting errors, and improving systems.
Mercury will not re-enter Cancer until August 22, giving us a useful window to stabilize ideas and conversations. Mars joins Gemini on August 2, adding energy and momentum to projects that need movement.
However, Gemini and Libra continue receiving Rahu’s aspect through November, bringing both amplification and instability. The lesson is to stay flexible. Unexpected changes may become opportunities to improve efficiency and adjust direction.
Saturn Retrograde in Pisces-( July 26 – December 12)
Saturn begins retrograde motion in Pisces on July 26 and continues until December 12. Saturn retrogrades every year for about four and a half months, and during this time his results can become less predictable.
Saturn usually represents structure, responsibility, discipline, delay, limits, maturity, and practical reality. When retrograde, these qualities may become uneven. Some matters may feel heavier, while others may loosen unexpectedly. Results can arrive faster or strangely, making it hard to know whether they came through effort or fate.
The 2026 Saturn retrograde echoes themes from the 2025 Saturn retrograde, since both occur in Pisces. Reviewing what happened from July to November 2025 may reveal clues about what could return for revision.
Full Moon in Capricorn - July 29
July ends with a powerful Full Moon in Capricorn on July 29, in Shravana nakshatra. Shravana brings listening, receptivity, wisdom, and calm awareness, while Capricorn offers discipline, boundaries, and maturity.
At this Full Moon, the Sun and Jupiter are exactly conjunct at 13 degrees Cancer, directly opposite the Moon at 13 degrees Capricorn. This creates a significant alignment between the Sun, Moon, and exalted Jupiter. These three sattvic influences bring light, wisdom, positivity, and spiritual clarity.
This is an excellent time to pause, reflect, meditate, and absorb the stabilizing energy available at month’s end. After a month filled with retrogrades, nodal pressure, and turning points, this Full Moon offers stillness and perspective.
Another key pattern occurs as Mars at 28 degrees Taurus aspects Venus at 28 degrees Leo. Both planets are preparing to leave fixed signs and enter dual signs. This signals movement after a period of delay.
What has felt pending, frozen, or not quite ready may begin to shift as July turns into August. The month closes with a sense that certain karmic knots are loosening, and new movement is finally becoming possible.
