Mars entered the sign of Virgo during the last days of July. Here it would be in opposition (180 deg) to Saturn in Pisces. Add to this Saturn being retrograde brings added tension and pressure around. We might feel that structure and discipline are crumbling. And we have, Virgo’s ruler Mercury currently in retrograde mode as well. This would question the logic behind everything in the vicinity. Mars travels through Virgo till mid-September. With Mercury and Saturn in retrograde mode, we are asked to remain patient, exercise caution and pay attention.
From Virgo, Mars would be aspecting Sagittarius by its 4th house aspect, bringing about opportunities for growth. Mars aspects Pisces by its 7th house aspect where it would face some push by Saturn posited therein. And we also have Mars aspecting the sign of Aries by its 8th house aspect. Aries is the home of Mars and presently there are no placements here. Hence areas ruled over by Aries in your natal chart stand to get influenced by this transit of Mars.
Full Moon in Capricorn-August 9
As August starts, the Moon would be waxing. And on the 9th, it gets full at 23 degrees of Capricorn, the home of Saturn. The Sun would be at 23 degrees of Cancer now opposing the Moon. Mercury which is presently in retrograde mode is posited in the sign of Cancer as well. This opposing Mercury would be hosting the planets of Jupiter, Venus and Mars in its signs of Gemini and Virgo around the Full Moon.
During this Full Moon, we have Saturn and Mercury in retrograde phase. This is a challenging situation and might bring about some frustrations. Lay low and wait for new leads. The Full Moon in Capricorn urges us to let go of the unwanted with a judicious approach. The accompanying retrogrades avoid clarity and there would be a dearth for information around the Full Moon. Be open, listen cautiously and surrender to the situation around.
Mercury Direct in Cancer- August 10
Following the Full Moon, on the 10th of August, the retrograding Mercury turns direct in Cancer at 11 degrees. Then it starts gaining momentum and would enter the fire sign of Leo on the 30th. As Mercury goes Direct we would see some stability and security for our ventures. Areas ruled by Cancer in your natal chart would see a new surge of energy and stability. With direct Mercury in Cancer, the rest of August would give good mental and emotional health. It would be a great time to re-organize things. Later on, as Mercury transits to Leo, there would be a new found energy.
Sun Transits Leo – (August 16 – September 16)
As August started, the luminary Sun would be traversing the sign of Cancer. On the 16th of August, it transits to its own home of Leo where it would be staying for the next one month. Do note that the Moon’s South Node Ketu is currently in Leo and is waiting for an eclipse season in September.
But for this the Sun through Leo in August would be devoid of any major aspects and links. A sense of calmness would prevail. The Sun in Leo is hemmed by Venus in Cancer from the 20th and Mars through Virgo on the other side. This would be a great time to utilize your creative energy as the obstructions for your projects now vanish.
Venus Transits Cancer-( August 20 – September 14)
As August starts, Venus transits through Gemini that favors relationships, studies and social links. Jupiter too would be moving through Cancer and these two planets conjunct exactly on the 11th of August. This might indicate some uneasiness around with both Jupiter and Venus squeezing through Gemini. There would be some major changes in your relationships, studies and creative pursuits during this conjunction. And on the 20th, Venus shifts position to the water sign of Cancer where it would be traversing till mid-September.
On the 23rd of August, the luminaries Sun and Moon join together at 7 degrees of Leo forming the New Moon for the month. The South node of the Moon namely Ketu, is also posited in Leo forming some eclipse-like vibes, though the conditions are not favorable for an eclipse right now. This New Moon in Leo calls for a re-set or re-start of your endeavors. And Ketu would bring about some drastic letting go, track-switching and major transformations around. We are urged to look towards our inner self, collect ourselves and try to re-orient as the New Moon starts to grow with August starting to end.
Mercury Transits Leo – (August 30 – September 14)
Mercury had been in the water sign of Cancer right from the 22nd of June, where it went through a retrograde phase and then turned Direct. And then on the 30th of August, it moves to the fire sign of Leo where Ketu and the Sun are already posited. In Leo, Mercury gains speed and readies itself for an eclipse phase in September. Mercury through Leo brings about clever, logical and flexible moves in our projects. We would stay inspired in our paths.
