israel-flag Israel

The inspiration for the flag of Israel is the prayer shawl of Jews with blue stripes on it and later the star got its entry when the Jews wanted a symbol for worship like that of a cross in Christianity and finally they ended up in the star.

This became a very common symbol and was later used in all ritual and official matters were also adopted in 1897 by the Zionist Congress.

The flag of Israel was adopted on October 28, 1948 and was white in colour with two blue stripes placed 15cm away from the top and bottom edges of the flag. In the centre of the flag is the blue six pointed Star of David with two interlocking equilateral triangles signifying the rise or new era for Israel.
