Pancha Pakshi Shastra is an ancient system of vedic astrology and divination rooted in ancient Tamil traditions and found in Tamil Literature. The Five birds representing the five fundamental forces of nature:
1. Vulture/Hawk (Garuda Pakshi)
2. Owl (Ulooka Pakshi)
3. Crow (Kaagha Pakshi)
4. Peacock (Mayura Pakshi)

We are assigned one of these five birds based on our birth timings.These birds are related to the Nakshatras (lunar mansions).
