Causes for Delay in Marriage

At times we see that a person has attained the desired age and the desired qualification but still is not able to find a suitable match for their marriage.  Many times, we also see that a person is in a relationship for quite a long time, and despite that, they cannot get married to their partner. This article will discuss the reasons for the delay in marriage. There are certain planetary combinations and positions which cause the delay in marriage. We will view the Lagna chart and D9 chart to predict delays in marriage.

Lagna Chart

1. If the seventh house is under heavy affliction, there will be delays in marriage.

If the seventh house is under heavy affliction, there will be delays in marriage. If the malefic planets surround the seventh house on the adjacent side, it could delay marriage. Also, afflictions occur if the planets like Rahu, Ketu, Mars, Saturn, or the Sun posit the seventh house. These planets are responsible for causing delays in marriage. Not only the presence of malefic but the presence of a ‘bhava Lord’ of the sixth house, eight house, or twelfth house in the seventh house could also cause delays in marriage. 

2. If the seventh lord is under heavy afflictions, there will be delays in marriage.

If malefic presences surround the seventh lord on adjacent sides, this could also cause delays in marriage. Although, these delays are not very significant and effective. 

3. If Venus is under heavy affliction, there will be delays in marriage.

Venus is the significator of marriage. If it is under heavy affliction, it will result in delays in marriage. The presence of malefic presences on the adjacent sides of the Venus as well as the presence of Venus in the sixth house, eighth house, twelfth house, or the third house will cause delays in marriage. Also, if Venus is combusted or conjunct by any sort of malefic planet, it will cause delays in marriage. Sometimes heavy combustion of Venus with the sun also results in marriage delays. At times, if Venus is present in a retrograde sign, or if Venus is itself retrograde, it will result in delays in marriage. 

4. Role of Saturn in delays in marriage

The presence of Saturn in the seventh house or seventh lord results in delays in marriage. At times the presence of Saturn in somebody’s seventh house does not cause delays but rather causes issues in married life. Also, if the seventh house hosts Saturn’s eleventh or tenth sign, which is either Aquarius or Capricorn, it could cause delays. 

5. Role of Mars in delays in marriage

The presence of Mars in your twelfth house, first house, second house, fourth house, seventh house, or your eighth house makes you a ‘Manglik’. A Manglik is a person whose marriages end in a disaster, divorce, or separation. 

6. If your Moon is under affliction or conjunct with Rahu, it will cause delays in marriage.

Moon is karaka for your fourth and second house. Also, it is a karaka for your mind and emotions. If your Moon is under affliction or conjunct with Rahu, it will cause delays in marriage. Rahu confuses you with whatever planets it is present in. You will not be able to make up your mind about marriage due to the confusion caused by Rahu despite having found the right proposal or match.
