If you've been married 15+ years, and you consider your marriage a "success," you have valuable experience that many people, myself included, are looking for.

What is a "successful" marriage? We can use responses to this thread to help define that term. The definition will probably vary greatly amongst different people. For me, here are some of the qualities

I consider successful in marriage:
Being "in love" with my partner still
Treating my partner with dignity and respect
Encountering difficulties and challenges, and getting through them
Being a compliment to each other
Accepting my partner's shortcomings or qualities that I don't like
Being a positive force in my partner's life
Having a very high level of trust
Maintaining a good sex life
Parenting success

In a scale of 10, I stand to be at 8 at all times.

In order to have long term success in marriage you must communicate! You should be able to communicate with your partner and tell him or her just how you feel or what you expect from him or her. Spend quality time together doing each other passion or hobbies.
Being spontaneous in the bed room, there is always time for love making. Always apologize even if you didn't start the argument. Be faithful, always remember what you have or had and how you can make it better again before you step out of the marriage, sometimes marriage don't survive after this. Have god in your marriage and grow together spirituality.

I agree with the both users, they both have good advice on having and keeping a marriage great. The key is to always work at your marriage. Many people get comfortable at their marriage and don't show how much they love their partner. You have to still act like when you were first dating.
