Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search ends tonight
Dancehall diva Tifa has been added to the entertainment line-up for the event.
According to Pulse, over the past year, thousands have auditioned for spots in the search and now it is down to the final group numbering just over 100 new faces, who will compete for the titles won last year by Hanna Lettman (fashion), Seth Verley (male face), Lara George (petite) and Tara Wright (full-figure).
Along the way, contestants have made several appearances, been hosted at receptions, had fun days, and faced three challenges – photo, swimsuit and runway.
Tonight’s show, which is set to start at 8:00pm, is produced by Romae Gordon, with choreography by Barry Moncrieffe and runway training by Donavan Marshall.
Caribbean Model Search alumini include Lois Samuels, Angela Neil, Althea Laing, Lincoln Wynter, Kimberley Mais, Michelle Moodie, Nikki Vassell, Carla Campbell, Nadine Willis, Jaunel McKenzie, Kimanee Wilson, Sanya Hughes, Oraine Barrett, Gaye McDonald, Nell Robinson, Jeneil Williams, Sedene Blake and Alexia Palmer.
Thirty-two years ago, when Kingsley Cooper launched the Caribbean’s first international model agency (Pulse), the region’s first model search (Caribbean Model Search), the modern Caribbean modelling industry was born.
Now, 32 years later, the models represent the best that our region has to offer. Individually and collectively, they have risen to become some of the best in the world. They are famous from New York to Milan, from London to Paris and around the Caribbean. Over the years, it would be very difficult to find an edition of Vogue or another major magazine in which they have not appeared. Similarly, they have done runway duties for some of the top designers and major brands for which some have also been campaign stars.
