The winners of Miss Sunderland 2010

The winner of Miss Sunderland 2010 was Tamzin Cummings, 19 from Sunderland, with 2nd being Kimberley Peacock, 18, from Durham, and third, Lauren Wilkinson, 21, from Cleadon in Sunderland.
Ben Weston a judge at the 2010 Miss Sunderland Final held last night at the Pullman Lodge in Sunderland, commented:
Over £7,000 was raised for charities Help for Heroes and Grace House Children"s Hospice and the 1950"s theme went down a storm. Hosts Philippa Tomson of ITV and Simon Robertson of One Voice Productions wore forces inspired sailor outfits while local singer Karen Harding from Durham sang Candy Girl. The crowds were entertained by X Factor favourite Chico whose impromptu singing about the girls straight from the judging panel bought the house down! New boyband on the block VICE who are due to be signed by a record company in London next week also performed a medley of songs from their new album - and you can look forward to seeing them soon in a a Sky 1 fly on the wall television series due to be aired this month.
Second in the competition was Kimberley Peacock 19 from Durham who wore a cute playsuit in the first round and third was 21 year old model Lauren Wilkinson who was bullied at school when she was a teenager for being too skinny .. Lauren also took the title of Miss Charity for raising over £1,000 for Grace House Hospice.
The judging panel included Ben and Kelly from Real Radio, Tony Jeffries NE Sportsman of the Year 2009, Sunderland AFC midfielder and Irish charmer David Meyler, 2009 Miss Sunderland winner Alexander Devine and Chico who spoke out for the "swervy curvy woman", singing an impromptu song about Kelsey Brown, a plus size contestant who spoke passionately about representing the "normal girl". Couture dress designer Anh Mao from Gosforth designed all the 1950"s inspired evening dresses on the night and was also responsible for designing the dresses for Miss World 2009. Asked to comment about his own experiences facing the X Factor panel with Simon Cowell, Chico quoted: "I had the time of my life on The X Factor, It was a rollercoaster of emotions - exhilarating, amazing and fantastically Chico-tastic!"
Simon Robertson who was the organiser of Miss Sunderland 2009 and 2010 said "I am so thrilled that we raised over £7,000 for our charities. The standard of girls from our region was very high and winner Tamzin has the perfect warm heart required to deal sensitively with her year"s duties for Children"s hospice Grace House and Help for Heroes - it was always as much about heart as beauty and the judges have been a fantastic decision. It was incredible to have both Chico and boyband VICE - the entertainment was second to none".Boyband Vice are currently being following by Sky 1 for a documentary on their chart success and they are : Staz, Scott, Kev and Luke .. the boys commented "we loved performing for such a worthy cause... the fact that it was a beauty contest was a real bonus, the girls were all gorgeous. We"ve been in the studio for a while now, so its good to get back out and start promomotion for our first single and we loved introducing ourselves to the North East".
