Gemma Ward & "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides": Model Signs On For Role
Gemma Ward has been off the radar for some time now, sitting on the modeling sidelines for almost three years. Various rumors said Ward had gained weight, she was depressed after actor Heath Ledger"s death or simply that she had enrolled in Yale to pursue acting.
But Ward is set to make a comeback--in a big way--playing a mermaid in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," according to news.com.au. She will act alongside Johnny Depp, Megan Fox, Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush. The movie will start filming this week in Hawaii but Ward will shoot her scenes in August. Ward isn"t the only model-turned-actress.
