Tyra Banks has denied she is returning to modelling.
The former supermodel sparked speculation she was coming out of her self-imposed retirement when she signed a contract with IMG Models earlier this month. She has now revealed that she will be working with the agency in a "broader capacity" and not as a model.
"I joined IMG for a bunch of reasons," Tyra wrote on her official website. "I"m building my company and I realised there are a lot of companies that I can help and that can help me. I used to be with IMG five years ago and now it"s nice to return in a broader capacity.
"And to set the record straight, I"m not coming out of modelling retirement ... IMG is such a huge company, there are many things I will be doing with them. Some fashion-related, but don"t expect to see me at any go-sees!"
Tyra also revealed her new deal with Italian Vogue. The publication has signed an agreement with Tyra"s reality show America"s Next Top Model, which will see them publishing the winner"s photo on the front cover of one of their issues each year.
Tyra is thrilled about the collaboration, and thinks it will make future seasons of the hit show better than any that have come before them. "Italian Vogue is going to be in the making-dreams-real business for me, helping me turn the girls we discover on America"s Next Top Model into authentic, international high fashion models," she wrote.
"Italian Vogue is it, when it comes to fashion magazines, and they"re going to put our winner on the COVER. No, not on page 173 next to the ad for anti-aging cream... ON THE COVER.
"This is huge. Put that together with the magnificent ALT (aka André Leon Talley) as the new judge and we"re sure to stay on the opposite of Dreckitude for many cycles to come!! Shaking with excitement over here!! (sic)."
Tyra also spoke about her upcoming fantasy novels, and said that all her projects were "connected", even if they didn"t appear to be.
