RHODOCHROSITE

Overview:

The name Rhodochrosite comes from the Greek "rhodon" for rose, and "chros" for color. Rhodochrosite is a rose colored mineral that was discovered by Inca Ripac, an Incan ruler around the 13th century.This mineral has been called a "Stone of Love and Balance", providing balancing and love on all levels for all bodies.


It is made when manganese is dissolved by ground water and attaches to a carbonate. Rhodochrosite is also an Earth stone for healing of the Earth and for showing love to the Mother of us all.



Helps release past psychological issues and improves eyesight. Stimulates circulation and blood pressure, kidneys and reproductive organs. Aids healing in the areas of circulation, blood pressure, kidneys, joint problems and eases migraines.

In 1938, a German named Franz Mansfeld discovered a mine, and in the process also unearthed an Inca tomb, holding funerary jewelry inside it. This led to the popular rebaptism of rhodochrosite as Inca Rose or Rosinca. Indians of the Andes today believe that the blood of their ancient rulers had turned into the gemstone there. Mystics say rhodochrosite is helpful in moments of extreme physical stress.
