AVENTURINE

Overview: The name aventurine comes from the Italian "a ventura," which means "by chance". Aventurine is a translucent to opaque variety of microcrystalline quartz. It contains small inclusions of shiny minerals which give the stone a sparkling effect known as aventurescence.
